Privacy policy

What we collect (very little), what lives onchain (a lot), and where your data never goes.

The short version

We built RHNS to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no passwords, no tracking pixels, and no advertising identifiers. The protocol lives on a public blockchain, this website is a window into it, and the only personal data we ever hold is what you choose to send us in a support message.

// 02

What lives onchain

Names, ownership records, expiry dates, and any records you attach to a name (addresses, links, social handles, avatars) are stored on a public blockchain. That is the entire point of the protocol: anyone can read them, verify them, and build on them. Onchain data is permanent and outside our control. We cannot edit it, hide it, or delete it, so treat every record you set as public information.

// 03

What this website collects

Close to nothing. The site serves the same pages to everyone and works without an account. Standard server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) are kept briefly for security and abuse prevention, then discarded. Your search queries for name availability are processed to answer the request and are not tied to an identity.

// 04

Wallet connections

Connecting a wallet shares your public address with the app so it can show the names you own and prepare transactions for you to approve. We never receive your private keys, seed phrase, or the ability to move your assets. Disconnecting removes the address from your session. If you connect through WalletConnect, the connection is relayed by WalletConnect's infrastructure under their own privacy policy; the relay carries encrypted session traffic, not your keys.

// 05

Analytics

The site currently runs no analytics at all. If we add any, it will be privacy-preserving and aggregate only: truncated IP addresses, no cross-site profiles, nothing sold or shared with data brokers, and this page will say so before the change takes effect.

// 06

Cookies and local storage

The site does not use advertising cookies. Your browser's local storage may hold small preferences (such as your last connected wallet type) so the app behaves consistently between visits. Clearing your browser storage removes them and breaks nothing.

// 07

Support requests

If you email us or use the contact form, we keep your message and reply address only as long as needed to resolve the issue, and delete both within 12 months of the last exchange. Include only the details needed for your request; never send us a seed phrase or private key, and be aware that we will never ask for one.

// 08

Third-party services

Resolving names and submitting transactions uses blockchain RPC providers, and font files are served from Google Fonts. These providers see the technical requests needed to do their job (such as the IP address making the request) under their own privacy policies. We choose providers with restraint and send them nothing beyond what the request itself requires.

// 09

Your rights

You can use nearly all of RHNS without telling us who you are, which is the strongest privacy protection of all. For anything we do hold (in practice, support correspondence), you can ask what we have, request a copy, or request deletion, and we will honor it. Requests go to privacy@rhns.domains. Remember that onchain data cannot be deleted by us or anyone else.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we will announce it on the blog before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. Questions are welcome any time at privacy@rhns.domains.
